The influence of joint line position on functional outcome in primary total knee arthroplasty

<p><strong>Background:</strong> To find out the cut off for position of joint line which will provide a good functional outcome.</p><p><strong>Methods:</strong> 58 patients underwent total knee arthroplasty using standard medial parapatellar approach were included in this study. Pre-operative and post-operative radiological assessed. assessment done oxford score International society score. outcome was assessed at 1, 3 6 months. Influence change on follow up visit 6<sup>th </sup>month.</p><p><strong>Results:</strong> Of studied, mean age ± SD 69.0±7.5 years. Joint elevation 36, 16, 8 2 between 0-2, 2-4 4-8 and>8 mm respectively with 2.24±2.07 group. Mean OKS-knee months follow-up study group 36.60 IKSS-knee 38.17 group<4 significant (p<0.05) when compared to group>4 (28.40).</p><p><strong>Conclusions:</strong> It concluded that restoration is necessary getting after primary arthroplasty. The 4-8mm showed inferior outcomes comparison within 4 mm.</p>
